Bounder, released in 1985 by Gremlin Graphics, stands as a landmark title from the golden age of gaming in the 80s. Gremlin Graphics, founded by Ian Stewart, was instrumental in defining the early video game landscape, producing other beloved classics like Re-Bounder, Monty Mole, and Zool.

Over the decades, Bounder has maintained its status within the retro gaming community, recently featured in Retro Gamer with an extensive two-page article. The game garners consistent recognition through YouTube walk-through videos and active discussions on social media platforms. Notably, it is included in the Mini C64 hardware revival, showcasing its lasting appeal.

Developed by Christian Shrigley, Andrew Green, and Robert Toone, Bounder introduced innovative features such as parallax scrolling—a first for computer games at the time. The gameplay is marked by ten levels that pose escalating challenges; this rigorous approach has captivated players from its inception. Zzap!64 awarded Bounder a Gold Medal in its tenth issue, describing it as "an absorbing, demanding and totally innovative approach to the ageing platform formula," which aptly reflects the game's impact.
